America's Largest Waterpark Resort!

August 14, 2014

At the end of July my daughter and I vacationed at Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin, last year was our first time to visit the Wisconsin Dells and we enjoyed it so much we decided to try it again this year.

Consisting of 600+ acres, the Wilderness Resort located in Wisconsin Dells is home to three amazing waterpark resorts: Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort, Wilderness on the Lake and Glacier Canyon Lodge. Together, these properties make up America’s largest waterpark resort, offering 4 indoor and 4 outdoor waterparks totaling more than 500,000 square feet all reserved exclusively for Wilderness Resort guests.

We stayed in the Wilderness Hotel which is a three story resort with 444 hotel rooms.  The rooms are large at the resort we had two queen beds and a sitting area with a pull-out.  The rooms also come with microwaves and refrigerators so we were able to have snacks in our room and my daughters favorite popcorn.

There are so many water-slides to ride, in total there are 58 slides, 33 indoor and 25 outdoor. and I think we rode them all.  The slides include 2 extreme, 2 thrill, 10 kiddie, 14 banana, 3 raft, 4 racer, 7 tube and 16 body. The Resort also has 4 lazy rivers, 2 lazy lakes, 1 wave pool, 5 kiddie pools with play structures, 5 toddler pools, 3 lily pad walks, 9 hot tubs, and 8 activity pools within all the parks.

In addition to all the water fun the resort offers may activities not involving water. They have a Northern Light Sky Ropes Course that is above a mega arcade, indoor 3-D mini Golf, outdoor mini golf, indoor and outdoor go-karts, Lazer Tag arena, Lazer Maze, Zip Line, horse drawn wagon rides.

This year Wilderness Resort added many new attractions and amenities to its 600 acre resort.

Ok Corral Lazer Tag Arena: This 4,000 square foot, two story arena will hold up to 30 players at a time. Guest can showdown in Town Square and compete for the top score, all while avoiding shots from other players.  Ramps give players access to the second floor where they can take aim over railings at unsuspecting outlaws below.

Marshall Training Lazer Maze: One or two players enter a room and the lazers turn on, then it is time to see how agile they are as they navigate through the maze of lazers.  Its all about your speed but don't break a beam or your time will be penalized.  Only those with best times are named, "Marshall".

Margarita's Swim-Up Bar:  Take a dip and get a drink at the adults-only, indoor/outdoor pool. The bar is 1,400 square feet and can accommodate up to 88 guests. The bar is an inviting tropical theme complete with a pergola and unique conversation areas.

Wilderwoods Go-Kart Trail:  Guests with a need for speed will want to check out the new indoor, two-story go-kart trail. Te 525 foot long course offers a total adrenaline rush as guests race around crazy turns and cork screws in electric cars.

Klondike Boardwalk: The Boardwalk features Yukon Yogurt, Klondike Kate's Libations and Klondike Pizza Kitchen.  At Yukon Yogurt guests can choose form 15 flavors of frozen yogurt or sorbet then add your own toppings. Klondike Kate's Libations is the ultimate watering hole experience where guest can stop by to enjoy their favorite cocktail or soft drink and catch up on their favorite sports team on one of the huge televisions.  Klondike Pizza Kitchen is the home of the Golden Nugget Pizza featuring Wisconsin cheese curds and other amazing specialty pizzas.  Pizzas are served piping hot by the slice or entire pie and are available for delivery within the entire resort, waterparks included.
