The Harlem Globetrotters Pushing The Limits World Tour 2020

A Night of Flips, Tricks, Laughter and Fun!

I am not a Basketball Fan. In fact, I have very limited knowledge of how the points work, and what happens when a player gets fouled. However, my 9yr old had played a season of basketball at the local Y, and basketball had become his favorite sport. I was not completely prepared for what we would get to experience at the Harlem Globetrotters Pushing The Limits Tour. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised.

Our night began with great seats. The only issue was we were almost directly behind one of the basketball hoops, so every now and again our view wasn't great. Despite that, the show itself was really fun. Throughout the night, they gave away prizes to fan-goers, from signed basketballs to Carnival Cruiseline Bags. Children and some adults had been pre-chosen for activities and games to win those prizes. These activities really pulled in the audience and got them excited about the game.

Many people wonder since the Harlem Globetrotters are entertainers if they actually do play basketball. On February 15th, they played against the Washington Generals and barely won 71-69 with a last-minute shot in the 4th quarter. The night was filled with amazing flips, tricks, dribbles, and comedic performance mixed with some actual basketball skills.

I think there was a toss-up between two of the funniest moment of the night. First, there was Big G, one of the Globetrotters' funniest mascots. He danced around the court to a mash-up of pop music. At one point, he shot his eyes across the court and slammed himself down on the court. The crowd was roaring with laughter and dancing along to the music. The second funny moment, was when one of the players climbs up onto the hoop, dances around, and then falls inside the hoop. Both of these moments, really had the fans laughing and cheering. My son's most favorite part of the game was actually in the 5th quarter. The 5th quarter was added so the fans could meet some of the players, get an autograph and a photo op. The Court is roped off, and the fans line up around the rope and take turns meeting their favorite players.

It was such a fun night for all of us. The Harlem Globetrotters really step up and do a lot for the community and their fans. They even have a charity that you can be a part of called On Our Sleeves which raises money and awareness for Childhood Mental Illness.

I may have walked into the Arena, not much of a basketball fan, but I walked out a Harlem Globetrotters Fan.
